Florian Hecker has been working with computer music, since 1996.
He has been frequently collaborating with other artists such as Oswald Berthold, Russell Haswell and Yasunao Tone.
His collaboration with Oswald Berthold has been released on compact disc by OR in 2001, and his collaboration with Yasunao Tone respectivly by Mego in 2004.
His full length solo recording, Sun Pandämonium, received the Award of Distinction at the Prix Ars Electronica 2003.
Hecker has given numerous international solo audio presentations, including La Biennale di Venecia, 49th International Exhibition of Art, Venice 2001, Royal Festival Hall, London 2002, Centre Pompidou, Paris 2002, ICMC 2002, Goteborg 2002 and Ars Electronica, Linz 2003.
With Yasunao Tone he performed 'Palimpsest' at Sonar MACBA Barcelona, Centre George Pompidou Paris, the MIT Media Lab Cambridge, Freunde guter Musik Berlin, Lampo Chicago, RML San Francisco and All Tomorrow's Parties London.
Hecker's works emphasize the connection of most recent as well as historic developments in computer music, hard- and software. Often working closely together with software engineers and scientists, his recent productions incorporate psycho-acoustic effects disorientating the listeners spatial perception in live presentations and studio works.
He has been working on sound pieces comissioned by visual artists Angela Bulloch, Carsten Höller, Florian Pumhösl and Cerith Wyn Evans.
Together with Russell Haswell he is currently working on a compact disc with material recorded early 2004 during their research with the UPIC system at the Centre for Composition of Music Iannis Xenakis (CCMIX) in Paris.
Hecker’s latest full length solo compact disc 'Recordings for Rephlex' has been released by Rephlex in decemeber 2006.

Robin Fox: computer, controllers, programming and live processing.
Anthony Pateras: Doepfer-100, voice, mixing desk & microphones
Melbourne's hairiest sons Pateras & Fox execute an electrified real-time
homage to some of their favorite obsessions: breakneck pacing, vocal
hysterics and blistering textures. A toxic mix of comedy and violence, they
perform exquisitely sculpted electro-acoustic vignettes. Where possible, the
duo play in multi-channel configurations, creating a visceral battlefield of
hyperactive audio in surround. Often they open their collaborative shows
with highlights from their respective solo arsenals of prepared piano and
laser.
The duo have performed countless concerts all over the world, throughout
Australia, Europe the USA and Japan, and have recorded two acclaimed
full-length releases: Coagulate (Synaesthesia, 2003) and Flux Compendium
(Editions Mego, 2006). They have also contributed tracks for compilations on
Sirr and Hydra Head.
Their 3rd extensive European tour in November 2005 saw them performing 16
concerts in 3 weeks across France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Germany,
Russia, Estonia and Slovakia, earning them an invitation to play on the GRM
acousmonium in Paris in April 2006. Their 2007 tour will include Musique
Action (Nancy), Musica Genera (Szczecin), Venn Festival (Bristol) and Neia
Musik (Mulhouse)
